Dhamma Manda ('essence of Dhamma'), the Northern California Vipassana Center, is on seventeen acres of pine, fir and oak in the Cobb Mountain area of Lake County. It is about two and a half hours' drive from San Francisco. Its first course was held in 2009.
Apply online through the centre's page on dhamma.org (in Nepal, start from np.dhamma.org). New students must first complete a 10-day course, and there is no charge.
