Established in 1996, Dhamma Tarāi is described by dhamma.org as the second-oldest Vipassana centre in Nepal. It stands on about 5 hectares between the Kiyasut and Sirsiya rivers near Parwanipur, some 9 km north of the border town of Birgunj; Simara airport is about 10 km away and the Raxaul railway junction about 13 km.
Apply online through the centre's page on dhamma.org (in Nepal, start from np.dhamma.org). New students must first complete a 10-day course, and there is no charge.
