Cittaviveka, also called Chithurst Buddhist Monastery, is a Thai forest monastery founded in 1979 by Ajahn Chah and Ajahn Sumedho, who was its first abbot. It is home to monks and siladhara nuns. It does not run lay retreats (it refers people to Amaravati), but guests may stay and share the monastic routine.
Write to the monastery's guest monk well in advance (Wat Pah Nanachat asks for at least two weeks) and expect to follow its full routine on eight precepts. Wat Pah Nanachat also expects earlier retreat experience.
