Dhamma Karuna ('compassion of Dhamma'), the Alberta Vipassana Meditation Centre, is on 8.5 acres on the outskirts of Youngstown, a farming village in the Canadian Badlands. It is three to five hours by car from Edmonton, Calgary, Regina and Saskatoon. Its first course was held in 2001.
Apply online through the centre's page on dhamma.org (in Nepal, start from np.dhamma.org). New students must first complete a 10-day course, and there is no charge.
