Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre

Founded by Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena in a rented room in Leh in 1986, MIMC moved in 1991 to its 250-acre Devachan campus at Choglamsar, where it also runs schools, a hospital and other social programmes. Its Sambodhi Retreat Centre offers short and longer retreats combining yoga with guided Buddhist Samatha and Vipassana meditation; it is not part of the Goenka organisation and follows its own teacher's method.
