Global Vipassana Pagoda

A 96-metre stone pagoda near Gorai on the edge of Mumbai whose pillar-less dome encloses a meditation hall for about 8,000 people; the foundation stone was laid in October 1997, building began in 2000, Buddha relics were enshrined on 29 October 2006, and the President of India inaugurated it on 8 February 2009. dhamma.org lists it as a non-centre course location, mainly for one-day courses for old students, and visitors can join free 10-minute Mini-Anapana sessions.

How to apply

Apply online through the centre's page on dhamma.org (in Nepal, start from np.dhamma.org). New students must first complete a 10-day course, and there is no charge.
