The centre at Bara Chakia in north Bihar (about 50 km from Muzaffarpur and 85 km from the Raxaul crossing into Nepal) stands on land offered during three non-centre courses Goenka held there between 1970 and 1972. It accommodates about 20 male and 12 female students; the Kesaria stupa is about 23 km away.
Apply online through the centre's page on dhamma.org (in Nepal, start from np.dhamma.org). New students must first complete a 10-day course, and there is no charge.
